A lovely little film of the 2009 bonfire

Thanks Adam!

There is even a virtual bonfire!

Even in the virtual world there is a Skinningrove Bonfire.
If you check out the movie in the Jetty Project section people are dancing around the bonfire.  Although the bonfire in the movie isn’t a themed structure it’s cool that the bonfire is so significant & important that it’s been put in this film about the future.  Skinningroves future could’t be imagined without the bonfire!

What a great night!

The whole event went really well, the fireworks were amazing & the bonfire was brilliant!  It burnt beautifully!

If anyone has any pics  they would like posting up of the event let me know & I’ll put them up.

If you have a flickr or similar site with present or past Skinningrove bonfire pics please let me know & I’ll put a link to it.

It would be great to have some pics of the crowd & decorations etc. Thanks

No one does Bonfire Night like Skinningrove – First Class!

Tonights the night & everything is looking good, so come on down & enjoy the event.  The event decorations are great! The festune is up decorated with viking head lanterns (yes we know Vikings never really had horns on their helmets but it’s fun & looks good), ravens, shields made at workshops during half term in the village & at local schools.  There is a lovely willow viking ship front sculpture with flags & waves on one side of the river & viking boats on the other that were made at school workshops & were at Odin’s Glow at Newton under Roseberry. Also the beautiful shields on the ship & other side decorations have also been made at workshop involving lots of people.   A team have been working flat out to get the fireworks ready.

There is so much that goes into making the bonfire the wonderful event that it is! It truly is a community event!

Please give generously to the collecters as it takes money to keep the bonfire going every year.

Loads of people have come to have a look today & over & over again I have heard people say “It’s a shame to burn it!

So get yourselves down while it’s there & enjoy the fireworks & bonfire. It’ll  be great!

It’ll just be ash tomorrow!
